Laser hair removal reduces hair growth over the long term, whereas shaving, waxing or creams only work for a short time. The centre is equipped with a DEKA Synchro Replay laser combining two wavelengths: alexandrite (755 nm) and long-pulse Nd:YAG (1064 nm). It can treat all areas of the body, including the face, and different skin types, including tanned skin, after a preliminary test.

How the treatment works
Sensations
As the laser passes, you feel a slight pinch or warmth. Anaesthesia is usually unnecessary; a local anaesthetic cream can be used if needed. The skin may redden for a few hours. Direct sun exposure must be avoided after the session.

Is laser hair removal permanent?
It reduces hair growth in the treated areas for the long term, far longer than shaving, waxing or creams. The number of sessions depends on the area, thickness and hair type.
Can laser hair removal be done on tanned skin?
The centre’s laser includes a wavelength (1064 nm Nd:YAG) suited to darker or tanned skin. A preliminary test is always carried out to anticipate the skin’s reaction.
How many sessions are needed?
Usually 5 to 10, because the laser only acts on growing hairs and the hair cycle can last more than six months depending on the area.
What precautions after a session?
Avoid direct sun exposure after the session. Slight redness may last a few hours; a specific cream may be recommended.
